Two unknown assailants attacked a 26-year-old Haymarket man after they drove him to the 8200 block of Katie Lynn Court in Gainesville early in the morning July 28.
According to the victim, he received a ride from three individuals after leaving a local establishment.
"The men reportedly drove the victim to the area above where he driver stopped in the cul-de-sac. At that point, the victim and two of the men exited the vehicle," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "The men assaulted the victim and took his wallet and phone before they got back into the vehicle and fled the area."
The victim sustained minor injuries from the attack.
"Officers located the victim’s phone near where the incident was reported to have occurred," Perok said."The victim was unable to describe the assailants."
