Man Fires Gun in Gainesville Bar Parking Lot

Prince William County police responded Mar. 31 to the MVP Bar & Grill located at the 7500 block of Old Linton Hall Rd in Gainesville for reports of shots fired.

According to a caller, on Sunday afternoon, a group of patrons became disorderly in the parking lot as they were leaving the establishment.

"During the encounter, one member of the group retrieved a handgun and fired a round into the air before leaving the area," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "Security staff was able to provide police with a description and tag information for the vehicle."

Police later located the vehicle in the area of Wellington Road and Balls Ford Road.

"The driver, the accused, was identified and arrested," Perok said.

Police charged Tanu Mohummad Bah, 36, of Fairfax with reckless handling of a firearm.

The suspect's court date is set for May 17, 2013, and he was released on a court summons.
