Prince William County Police have charged Joshua Lemar Pendleton, 25, with attempted burglary, felony eluding, felony hit and run, driving under the influence of drugs, and driving on a revoked license after a failed attempt at breaking into a house on the 13800 block of Tartan Hills Parkway in Bristow.

According to police spokesman Office Jonathan Perok, at 9:46 p.m. on Aug. 15, the police responded to a report of a suspicious individual, who reportedly attempted to break into the residence by kicking in the door.

The suspect was last seen attempting to flee the scene in a vehicle.

"An officer located a vehicle, matching the description provided to police, in the area of Tartan Hills Parkway and Sudley Manor Drive," Perok said. "The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, at which point, the driver, later identified as the accused, disregarded the officer’s emergency equipment."

The police report indicated that the suspect eventually ran a red light at the intersection of Nokesville Road and Piper Lane and struck a vehicle in the intersection. The driver of the vehicle that was hit received no injuries from the crash.

"At that point, the accused fled the crash scene on foot," he said. "Officers were able to quickly locate the accused  in the parking lot of a shopping center nearby where he was arrested without further incident"

Pendleton, of 8501 Brigade Court in Manassas, was charged for the attempted Bristow burglary and other offenses and is being held without bond. No court date has been set.
