Following an investigation, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit charged Danny Quoc Tran, 21, of Manassas with felony child neglect and cruelty and injury to a child.
According to police, the victim, an 8-month-old girl, was in the care of Tran, her father, Mar. 19, when she was injured at their home.
"While in his care, the accused began to play with the victim," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "At one point, the accused slipped and fell on top of the victim and as a result the victim sustained a fracture to her femur."
Police discovered that he neglected to seek medical attention for the young girl's injury.
The following day, another family member took the victim to the hospital where police were notified.
Police arrested Tran April 8.
Trans's court date was not made available; he is being held on a $10,000 secured bond.
