Prince William County Police responded to a residence, located in the 10900 block of Coverstone Drive in Manassas July 9, for reports of a domestic assault & battery.
According to the victim, a 40-year-old man of Manassas, a verbal altercation with Gloria Hernandez, 31, of Manassas, escalated into an attack with scissors.
"During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, retrieved a pair of scissors and attempted to stab the victim," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "Minor injuries were reported."
Following an investigation, police arrested Hernandez, who was charged with attempted malicious wounding and domestic assault & battery.
Hernandez's court date is pending and she is held without bond.
