Following reports of a domestic dispute between a mother and teenaged son Feb. 26, Prince William County Police charged the juvenile with two counts of burglary and two counts of grand larceny.

According to police, the mother, a Manassas resident, told officers that the 13-year-old was in possession of stolen items.

“Upon further investigation, officers determined that the accused had property which had been taken from two separate residences in the 8000 block of Ashland Ave between Feb.18 and Feb.19,” police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

Among the items that the teen reportedly took from local homes were electronic devices valued under $1000.

At least in one instance the suspect encountered the homeowner during the burglary. Police employed a K-9, but was not located at the time.

The teen is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center; a court date is currently unavailable.
