The wife of the victim characterized her husband's injuries as substantial.

"My husband has more than 'minor injuries' he has a fractured eye socket,  severely bruised ribs and sternum," she said. "This coward literally stomped on my husband's head/face, leaving a shoe imprint. He also has multiple contusions on his head."

She confirmed that following the attack and the alleged secondary attack by Pamela Lee Walters, the suspect's' mother, he was transported to Prince William Hospital where a CT Scan was performed.

"Surgery may be necessary to correct the orbit in his eye socket," she said.

A verbal altercation between neighbors escalated into an attack on a 53-year-old man by a mother and son.

Prince William County Police charged Austin Lee Kretsch, 21, of Manassas and his mother Pamela Lee Walters, 48, of Gainesville with malicious wounding following an incident in the 13500 block of Filly Court May 8.

"During the encounter, the altercation escalated and the victim was struck in the head by the neighbor’s son, identified as Austin Kretsch," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "At one point, the victim was on the ground with the accused on top of him."

Perok said a witness intervened and separated both parties.

"Shortly after, the victim’s neighbor, identified as Pamela Walters, reportedly struck the victim in the face twice," he said.

Following the investigation, police arrested Kretsch and Walters; their court date is July 6 and they are both being held without bond.

Ketsch was found guilty of charges connected to a Sept. 11, 2012 incident at the Somerset Crossing Drive Miller Mart in Gainesville.
