A 61-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman of Woodbridge were sent to an area hospital following a motorcycle crash in Nokesville at 8:40 a.m. Thursday.

The two individuals, reportedly a married couple, were riding on a 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when they struck the rear of the vehicle ahead of them. The accident occurred in the area of Route 28/Nokesville Road and  Aden Road.

“The motorcycle ran into the rear of a vehicle that had stopped for another vehicle that was making a left in front of them,” police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said.

According to police, both the motorcycle operator and passenger were flown out as a precaution.

The 32-year-old driver of the other vehicle, a 2008 Toyota Sienna, was not injured.
