A Nokesville teen died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash, Tuesday evening; Nokesville woman was charged with reckless driving.

Richard Anthony Gonet, 19, of Nokesville, died in a motorcycle crash, while approaching Parkgate Drive in Nokesville, shortly before 9 p.m., Aug. 2.

Cynthia Sheryl Roman, 50, of Parkgate Drive was charged with reckless driving in connection with the incident.

A third vehicle, a 2015 Honda Civic, driven by 25 year-old-woman Woodbridge woman, was also involved in the accident.

According to Prince William Police, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Aden Road and Parkgate Drive to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle, Aug. 2 at 9 p.m.

The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2001 Acura TL was traveling south on Aden Road, approaching Parkgate Drive.

At the same time, the operator of 2002 Suzuki SV650 motorcycle was traveling north on Aden Road, approaching the same intersection.

“The Acura driver attempted a left turn onto Parkgate Drive from Aden Rd, crossing in front of the motorcycle, causing the collision,” said police spokesperson, Sgt. Jonathan Perok. “The collision caused the operator to separate from the motorcycle, which struck a third vehicle, a 2015 Honda Civic.”

Gonet was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries from the crash.

Police say that all parties remained at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Speed does not appear to be a factor as revealed at this point in this investigation.

Gonet was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Roman has a court date set for September 8. She has been released on a court summons.
