The weather picture for Monday is becoming clearer as the National Weather Service now says there's a 90 percent chance that it will snow.

Forecasters predict rain and snow, then all snow after 10 a.m. Monday with accumulations staying in the  quarter to half of an inch range. High temperatures will top out in the mid-30s.

"Low pressure in the plains will move into eastern Canada by Sunday pulling a cold front through the area Sunday into Sunday night," an NWS forecaster said. "Waves of low pressure will ride along this front and bring unsettled conditions during the early and middle part of the week."

The potential for accumulating snow depends upon how quickly the colder area becomes established Sunday.

"There is good enough model agreement to say with reasonably high confidence that while the entire area should see a period of precipitation; the heaviest and steadiest precipitation is favored across the  southern half of the," they said.
