Obama Rally: Police Advise Residents to Avoid Jiffy Lube Live Vicinity Saturday Night

Posted

The Prince William County Police are expecting significant traffic delays Saturday evening for President Obama’s campaign stop at Jiffy Lube Live.

According to a statement, residents in that area can expect traffic delays and an increased police presence.

“Our goal is to keep traffic flowing as much as possible,” police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said.

Residents are advised to avoid the site as the campaign expects to distribute all available all tickets to the event.

“Residents and those not attending the event are asked to use other routes,” Perok said.

Yesterday, the campaign began taking orders for tickets to the event, which will feature the President, former President Bill Clinton and a special acoustic performance by Dave Matthews. Tickets are available online or at campaign offices through 8 p.m. Friday.

Doors to Jiffy Lube Live will open at 7 p.m. for ticket-holders.

This rally is part of a two-day campaign push to make up for the scheduled stops that were cancelled on Monday due to Hurricane Sandy.
