New Jersey Man Charged with Assaulting Police Officer at Jiffy Lube Live

A concert-goer, attending Farm Aid at Jiffy Lube Live, Sept. 17, assaulted a police officer after being arrested for disorderly conduct.

A Prince William County Officer was working off-duty detail at Jiffy Lube Live, located at 7800 Cellar Door Drive in Bristow, when the venue staff advised him of a disorderly person.

“The officer responded and made contact with the accused, who exhibited signs of intoxication, and was placed under arrest,” said police spokesperson, Officer Nathan Probus.

While the accused, Thomas Patrick Philbin, 30, of New Jersey, was being processed at the venue by corrections officers from the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, the accused broke free and attempted to flee but was quickly detained.

As the accused was being escorted back to the processing area, the accused struck a corrections officer in the head with his head.

Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Thomas Patrick Philbin, of Dunullen, New Jersey was charged with assault & battery on a Corrections Officer, escape without force, and public intoxication.

His court Date has been set for November 7. He is being held without bond.
