UPDATE: Gainesville Man Killed in Linton Hall Road Accident

Updated, Nov. 12 at 2:35 p.m.:

The pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle on Linton Hall Road Thursday morning was identified as Girma Genemo, 64, of Gainesville.

The driver of the car was identified as a 39-year-old Manassas man.

Nov. 12 at 6:28 a.m., members of the Prince William County Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 8200 block of Linton Hall Rd in Gainesville (20155) to investigate the vehicle crash.

“The investigation revealed that a pedestrian was crossing Linton Hall when he was struck by the driver of 2009 Cadillac CTS who was traveling northbound,” said police spokesperson, Officer Nathan Probus. “The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.”

According to police, the driver of the Cadillac was not injured and remained at the scene of the crash. Police say that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.

“Speed is also not believed to be a factor for the driver of the Cadillac,” Probus said.

No charges are pending at this time. The investigation continues into the cause of this collision.

Prince William County Police reported that a vehicle struck and killed an adult male pedestrian in the area of Linton Hall Road and Limestone Drive around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the driver remained on the scene following the accident.

Investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the incident and will release more information when its available.

Linton Hall Road, which was closed during the investigation, has been reopened.
