UPDATED: Police Announce Funeral Arrangements for Officer Yung

UPDATED 6 p.m., Jan. 3, 2013 Due to expected attendance and parking at the funeral of Officer Chris Yung to be held Friday morning, the Prince William Police are requesting the public line the process route in lieu of attending the service for Officer Young. Following funeral service, January 4, tentatively around noon, members of the public who wish to send their regards to the Yung family should plan to line the following streets of the route provided by Prince William Police Department. Procession Route:  Left onto Gideon Dr Right onto Dale Blvd Left onto Benita Fitzgerald Dr Left onto Cardinal Dr Short pause at the Eastern District Police Station Right onto Jefferson Davis Hwy, RT 1 Right onto Dumfries Rd, continuing on Prince William Pkwy Right onto University Blvd Left onto Freedom Center Blvd There will be a short pause at the Western District Police Station Left onto Wellington Rd Left onto Prince William Pkwy, continuing on Dumfries Rd Right onto Jefferson Davis Hwy, RT 1 Short pause at the Iwo Jima Memorial [RT 1 and Joplin Rd] Procession will continue to a private reception Those not planning on attending the funeral or the procession may want to plan to avoid those streets around noon on Friday.   Originally Posted, Jan. 3 The Prince William County Police Department has finalized the  arrangements for the viewing and service for fallen Officer Chris Yung, who was killed Monday in a motorcycle accident while on duty. Police announced that the viewing/wake will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Hylton Memorial Chapel, 14640 Gideon Drive in Woodbridge. The service will be held Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 10 a.m., also at the Hylton Memorial Chapel, they said. Interment will be private. According to police, the viewing and service are open to all county government employees. The department is also soliciting donations to Law Enforcement United in memory of Officer Yung.
