Prince William County police charged Jamal Arris Thompson, 26, of Oakland, Ca. with prostituting a minor at a local hotel April 18.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Bureau encountered “a suspicious person” in the area of the Holiday Inn located at 10424 Balls Ford Road in Manassas

“During the investigation, detectives learned that the accused was housing a 15-year-old female in a room of the hotel believed to be involved in prostitution,” police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. “

The investigation was turned over to the Special Victims Unit, who identified the girl as missing from Maryland.

“The investigation revealed that the victim reportedly ran away from home and encountered the accused at a convenience store in Maryland sometime in February,” Perok said. “The accused then brought the victim to Virginia where she was prostituted by the accused at various hotels.”

Police charged Thompson with receiving money from prostitution, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, taking indecent liberties with a minor, procuring a person for prostitution, and use of a communication device to solicit a minor.

The juvenile has been returned to Maryland.

The suspect’s court date is currently unavailable, and he is being held without bond.
