UPDATED: Gainesville Teen Arrested for Armed Robbery of 7-11

Prince William County Police arrested a 16-year-old male of Gainesville Feb.12 at 3:09 p.m. on charges of robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

During the investigation, a clerk reportedly saw a young man, without a mask, wearing the same clothing shortly before the robbery.

"Surveillance footage was obtained and investigators were able to develop a possible identity of the suspect as a male juvenile who lived in the area," police spokesman Jonathan Perok said. "Detectives from the Robbery Unit made contact with this suspect at his residence."

Police obtained a search warrant, which was executed at the teen's home, and recovered evidence from the incident.
 .
Following the investigation, police arrested the suspect.
 .
The juvenile suspect's court date is pending and he is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center.

Prince William Police have arrested a suspect in Thursday afternoon's robbery of the 7-11 at 7615 Heritage Village Plaza in Gainesville.
 .
According to police, the male suspect, who was armed, robbed the store of money and took off on foot in an unknown direction.
 .
Police reported no injuries during the incident.
 .
Although police initially believed that the suspect was in his early 20's, they now say he is a juvenile.
 .
On Thursday, police were searching for a black male with possible dreadlocks, who was last seen wearing a black winter jacket, blue jeans and white shoes.
