Police Arrest Man for Sexually Assaulting Women at Manassas Hotel

policedoor700pxPrince William Police made an arrest, Oct. 6, in connection with three sexual assaults that took place at the Wyndham Garden Hotel located on Vandor Lane in Manassas, Prince William County.

Police charged Brandon Charles Murdock, 31, of Front Royal, with burglary and attempted aggravated sexual assault. Murdock alleged sexually assaulted a middle-aged woman and two teenage girls from Korea on separate occasions. All of the women were guests at the Manassas hotel.

Thursday, detectives from the Special Victims Bureau and Street Crimes Unit conducted an operation at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in connection to a sexual assault, which occurred in September.

“During the operation, a man, later identified as the accused, entered the target room reserved by police and attempted to approach the bed where a decoy was in place,” police spokesperson, Sgt. Jonathan Perok said. “Detectives immediately took the accused into custody without incident.”

During the subsequent investigation, detectives were able to link the accused to the recent sexual assault at the hotel from September and a similar incident from October of 2015.

Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Brandon Charles Murdock, was arrested. His court date is pending. He is being held without bond.

Sexual Assault Investigation

September 15 at 6:30 a.m., officers responded to the Wyndham Garden Hotel located at 10800 Vandor Lane in Manassas (20109) to investigate a sexual assault.

The victim, a 63-year-old woman visiting the area from overseas, reported to police that she was sleeping inside her room when she woke to an unknown man inappropriately touching her.

The victim screamed and the suspect fled the room. No injuries were reported.

Detectives canvassed the entire hotel and no suspect was located. There were no signs of forced entry into the victim’s room. The investigation continues.

Sexual Assault Investigation

October 6 at 10:02 a.m., officers responded to the Wyndham Garden Hotel located at 10800 Vandor Lane in Manassas (20109) to investigate a sexual assault.

The victim, a 15-year-old female juvenile visiting from Seoul Korea on a school related trip, reported to her school staff that she was sleeping inside her room when she woke around 5 a.m. to an unknown man touching her inappropriately.

When the victim woke up, the man fled the room.

The victim was unable to describe the man to investigators due to the room being dark at the time.

School staff reported the incident to police later in that morning.

While investigating, detectives from the Special Victims Unit learned of a second similar incident which reportedly occurred the day prior, October 5, around 6:15 a.m., involving a 16-year-old female juvenile student on the same trip.

In that incident, an unknown man also reportedly touched the victim before fleeing the room when she woke.

The victim was only able to describe the suspect as a white male with a medium build and bald head.

This encounter was not reported to police until the second incident occurred.

No injuries were reported in either case. Detectives canvassed the entire hotel and no suspect was located.

There were no signs of forced entry into either room. The investigation continues.
