Prince William County Schools have announced that the Police and Fire Departments will conduct "realistic" training at the former Nokesville Elementary School over the next few months.
"The sight of fire crews or police swarming around the former Nokesville ES should not cause alarm in the weeks ahead; routine but realistic-looking training will be taking place at the now-closed school buildings and grounds," school officials said in a statement.
Police have scheduled training for Oct. 2 and 10, while firefighters plan to train Nov. 26 and Dec. 9. Officers and crews will begin in daylight hours, but may continue well after dark.
"Students walking in the area may encounter the training scenes along their way," they said. "Parents and school personnel should strive to make sure they know there is no reason for worry."
