Police Identify Manassas Woman's Abductor

Police are searching for this individual, whom they believe is known by the victim. Police are searching for Jorge Alberto Corea-Berrios, whom they believe abducted and raped a 24-year-old Manassas woman.

Prince William County Police have identified the suspect who allegedly abducted Yezmin Elizabeth Ruiz-Monchez, 25, of Manassas as Jorge Alberto Corea-Berrios, 34.

According to police, Corea-Berrios is wanted on charges of strangulation, abduction, rape and burglary with intent to commit a felony.

Police said on April 11 at 12:30 a.m., the suspect forced his way into Ruiz-Monchez's Manassas home.

"Once inside the home, the suspect retrieved a knife from the kitchen and cut another resident of the home during the altercation," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "The suspect then proceeded to the victim’s bedroom and removed her from the home at knifepoint."

Corea-Berrios and the victim left the residence on foot, but she was eventually able to escape and contact police.

She told police that she was sexually assaulted by the suspect during the abduction; she was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

"The victim also reported that she and the suspect were involved in a domestic altercation on April 9 in which the suspect strangled her," Perok said.

Detectives have obtained warrants for Corea-Berrios's arrest. The suspect, who has ties to Manassas and New York, was last seen wearing a white sweater and light blue jeans.
