Prince William County Police are searching for an individual who attempted to break into a residence located in the 15100 block of Gaffney Circle in Gainesville last week.
According to the homeowner, the incident occurred sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 and 4:30AM on Oct. 14.
"Entry was attempted into the home through a rear kitchen door which was found damaged," police spokesperson Sgt. Jonathan Perok said. "No entry was made and no property was reported missing."
Other recent attempted burglaries in Gainesville include one in September 2015 in the 8400 block of Tackhouse Loop and another in Tall Timber Drive Aug. 1.
Police continue to advise residents to secure their premises at all times.
