UPDATED: Bristow Teen's Death Ruled Suicide

Prince William County Police announced Wednesday the cause of  Christopher James Owens' death was suicide.

"Based on the autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner's Office Oct. 27, the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot injury and the manner of death was ruled a suicide," police spokesman Sgt. Jonathan Perok said.

Prince William County Police confirmed the death of Christopher James Owens, 15, of Bristow, was not caused by an ATV.

Police spokesperson, Officer Nathaniel Probus said, "It was not an ATV accident."

"We are still investigating the cause of death, but there’s no threat to public safety," Probus said.

Owens, who went missing Saturday evening with his ATV, was found dead early Monday evening in a wooded area near the Prince William/Fauquier county line in Nokesville.

Owens attended Brentsville District High School. He was one of four Prince William County teens to die in a span of the past few days in three separate incidents.

Prince William County schools will be offering counseling at their high schools.
