policedoor700pxPrince William County Police are asking residents to watch out for a black male and female, between 17-19 years-old, driving a blue 4-door sedan that was used in connection with two attempted burglaries in Gainesville.

According to police, these two individuals attempted to burglarize homes in the 14700 block of Penshire Drive and in the 16000 block of Post Point Way Monday afternoon.

The owner of the Penshire Drive residence reported to police that an unknown man knocked on the front door around 1 p.m.

"When no one answered, the man went to the back of the residence and attempted entry through a rear patio door," police spokesman Nathan Probus said. "When the homeowner challenged the man, he fled the area in a blue 4-door sedan being driven by an unknown woman."

At 2 p.m. officers responded to the Post Point Way home for another burglary in progress, which involved similar suspects.

"The resident of that home reported to police that an unknown man attempted to enter the residence through a locked rear door," Probus said.

Again when he was met by the homeowner, he fled the scene in the blue sedan.

The suspects did not gain entry into either home and no property was reported missing.

Police describe the black male as 6 feet tall, 140 lbs, black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a black jacket and white shoes.

No further description was provided of the female.
