Police Warn Bristow Communities to Stay Alert, Report Suspicious Activity

Posted
While not reporting an increase in local residential crime, the Prince William County Police Department is asking residents of Bristow communities to immediately report any suspicious activity in local neighborhoods. "There have been recent reports of residential burglaries in the Bristow area," police posted on their Facebook page. "Residents have reported unknown individual(s) ringing their doorbells consistently, walking through their yards, and attempting to enter their residence by turning the door handle." They advise residents to:
  • Keep all doors and windows locked, even if when someone is at home.
  • If you hear something in your home, do not investigate. Go to a safe room; call 911 and stay on the line.
  • Be vigilant for suspicious persons or activity at all times, day or night.
  • Report all suspicious persons or activity to the police.
"If your community has a Neighborhood Watch, volunteer to participate," officials said. "If your community does not have one, start one."
