Police Warn Western PWC Residents of Car Burglaries

policedoor700pxFollowing a recent rash of overnight auto burglaries, Prince William County Police have issued a statement advising residents to secure their vehicles.

"There have been several reports of larcenies from autos in the western district, between Vint Hill Road and Linton Hall Road," a police spokesperson said. "These larcenies are occurring between midnight and 7 a.m."

Among the items that thieves are stealing are money, smartphones, computer tablets, laptops, wallets, purses and garage door openers. Police suggest residents lock their cars, close doors and windows and remove valuables from their cars or secure them in the trunk. "If you can leave your valuables at home, do it," he said. "Otherwise when you get to your destination, take your valuables with you." Police ask residents to report all suspicious activity by either calling 911 for emergencies or 703-792-6500 for non-emergencies.
