Police have given the all-clear following a thorough search of the building by police.

All after-school student activities have been cancelled.

"Students may not re-enter or retrieve belongings from Glenkirk today," a PWCS spokesperson said.

Updated, Jan. 11 at 3:35 p.m.:

Prince William County Schools has announced pick up information for students from Glenkirk Elementary School.

Dismissal will begin at the normal time.

Bus riders and kiss and ride students will be dismissed from Marsteller Middle School. Daycare buses will also be dismissed from Marsteller Middle School.

Walker will be returned to Glenkirk Elementary School for dismissal.

Updated, Jan. 11 at 1:40 p.m.:

Prince William Police are investigating whether the threat at Glenkirk Elementary is credible.

"At this point, we have no credible information that this is a legitimate threat or connect to any other incident within the county," Prince William Police spokesperson, Office Nathan Probus said.

Students have been evacuated from Glenkirk Elementary School and transported to Marsteller Middle School.

Prince William County Schools is telling parents not to attempt to pick their children up from Glenkirk Elementary.

"To ensure orderly transportation, students will NOT be released to parents from Glenkirk," said Supervisor of Community Relations Irene Cromer. "Those insisting on picking up students should go to Masteller Middle School.  This will ensure a safe orderly process for everyone.  All students are safe and fully supervised.  Further updates to come."

Cromer also said that as students are safe and being made comfortable, parents should not feel the need to have to take their children home from school.

"There is no need for parents to pick up students—emergency plans assure their safety and comfort," Cromer said.

PWCS reiterated that evacuation remains precautionary due to an unconfirmed phone threat. Students are safely being transported to Marsteller Middle School in Bristow where lunch will be provided for them.

Prince William County Schools has announced that Glenkirk Elementary School students are being transported to Marsteller Middle School as a precaution due to the cold temperatures while police continue their investigation of an unconfirmed phone threat at Glenkirk Elementary.

Lunch will be provided.

"Avoid calling or visiting the schools so as not to inadvertently interfere with response crews," said Irene Cromer, Supervisor of Communications for Prince William County Schools. "All are safe. We will continue to update the community."

Prince William County Schools announced that Glenkirk Elementary School in Gainesville was evacuated late Monday morning as a precaution, following an unconfirmed phone threat.

"All are safe and police will be responding," said Irene Cromer, Supervisor of Community Relations for Prince William County Schools.

Cromer said that updates will be provided when the police have given the 'all clear' for the school. Parents can visits the Glenkirk website for more information or the PWCS Facebook page.
