Prince William fire fighters responded to a townhouse fire just after at 6 a.m. Thursday morning at 8864 Stable Forest Place in Bristow.

Fire I rescue teams arrived before 6:30 a.m. extinguished the fire, and then checked for hot spots in the Kingsbrooke three-story townhouse.

According to Communications Specialist Kim Hylander, the resident of the townhouse arrived home to find a small fire on the second floor and damage upstairs. She called the fire department.

Fire Marshall Brian Ferguson was on the scene at 8:15 a.m. to conduct an investigation of the fire.

“The fire did not spread to the adjacent townhouse," he said.

He also reported that there were no injuries.

While there is no visible damage to the exterior of the home, Ferguson said he suspects the home will be considered unsafe before repairs are made.

However he is waiting for an official word, saying “building officers have been called to do an assessment.”

One Nokesville fire engine and one fire and one rescue vehicle were on the scene.

The entrance to Stable Forest from Denham Way, a side street, was blocked off this morning by the fire department.
