Police Charge Man for Murder in Manassas Stabbing

Saturday, detectives from the Prince William County Police Homicide Unit identified and arrested the suspect involved in the murder of Samuel Enrique Godoy-Figueroa, which occurred in the 8000 block of Stream Walk Lane in Manassas, November 24.

“The investigation revealed that the accused and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated,” said police spokesperson, Officer Steven Mattos, Jr. “During the encounter, the victim was stabbed multiple times and later died. Both men were known to one another.”

Police identified the accused as Guillermo Estaban Urrego. They located and apprehended him, November 26, without incident at an apartment on Milestone Square in Ashburn with the assistance of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

No other suspects are being sought in this investigation.

Guillermo Estaban Urrego, is a 30-year-old male who resides on Daisy Court in Manassas. Police are charging him with murder. http://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title18.2/chapter4/section18.2-32/>

Urrego’s court date is pending. He is being held without bond.

The victim was identified as Samuel Enrique Godoy-Figueroa, 27, of Manassas.

Homicide Investigation

November 24 at 8:20 p.m., officers responded Stream Walk Lane in Manassas (20109) to investigate a reported stabbing.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

First responding officers attempted first aid on the victim who was subsequently transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that the incident possibly stemmed from an altercation between the victim and a known male behind a business in the above area.

The suspect was not immediately located and remains at large.

The victim was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

“This incident does not appear to be random,” said a police spokesperson. “The identity of the victim will be released once confirmed and their next-of-kin have been notified. The investigation continues.”

This is Prince William County’s 21st homicide of 2016*.
