Prince William Police Offer Neighborhood Watch Training Session

The Crime Prevention Unit of the Prince William County Police is hosting a Neighborhood Watch training and meeting, Monday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. The event should last about an hour.

“Want to make a difference in your neighborhood? Starting a Watch program is a valuable first step, and this event will include the training needed to start one,” said Sharon Richardson, Public Information Officer with Prince William County Police.

The Crime Prevention Unit also invites those who already members of their local Neighborhood Watch to attend, saying it will serve as a fresher course. While there, they can meet other Watch coordinators and share ideas.

Topics to be covered include crime reporting, emergency preparedness, Watch patrolling, active violence and a Q&A session.

The event will be held at the Western District Police Station, 8900 Freedom Center Boulevard in Manassas.

The event is free. Those intending to attend are asked to RSVP to make sure that enough materials are provided.
