Ahead of a potential snow storm in the region Wednesday, Prince William County Schools is watching and waiting before cancelling classes on the half day prior to Thanksgiving break.
"Though abbreviated, Nov. 26 is a scheduled school day and under PWCS regulations, any possible adjustments to the schedule will be evaluated based on safety, just like any other day," Director of Communications Services Phil B. Kavits said.
Kavits explained that with the winter season approaching, the school division considers that there will be many instances where they must adjust school schedules.
"With an entire winter of potential problems ahead, we want to avoid overreacting to the first mention of possible snowfall," he said. "If weather-related schedule changes are required, they will be made; if not, students will get the opportunity to benefit from their time in school."
