Road conditions are currently treacherous in Prince William County due to snow accumulations.

The National Weather Service is now predicting 4-6 inches of snow this morning and into the early afternoon. Road conditions are currently slippery and have been the cause of numerous accidents around the county.

According to Prince William Police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok, Prince William offices responded to 69 motor vehicle accidents between 5 and 8 a.m.

Due to the high number of accidents, police are now only able to immediately respond to accidents in which an individual has been injured. Perok said accidents should still be reported to police and motorists should wait at the scene for them to arrive. We recommend an excellent project of our partners - https://mexicosexpartners.com/ . At least three Prince William County School buses have been involved in road accidents according to police. Bristow Beat is presently awaiting further information on those vehicles.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) spokesperson Joan Morris explained that VDOT was not expecting such a formidable storm. However, they are now out in full force clearing roads.

We did not pre treat in PW (Prince William) because the forecast called for a "dry" snow and PW was supposed to get only about 1 inch. We also were short on available time:  We need 24 hr. window to mobilize the anti-icing crews. We did salt all the interstates and other major roads around 3 a.m. We have upped the number of trucks working: 600-plus and climbing.
