Updated: Feb. 24, 9:00 a.m. According to a guest blogger on Unclutterer, the individuals posing as cleaning products salespeople were canvasing homes in Haymarket Saturday. " came to my door yesterday in Haymarket claiming to be opening a store near the new Walmart," a Haymarket resident said. He described their vehicle as a Black Chevy Suburban. "The cops were called and they said tell everyone to call them ASAP if this happens to them," he said. Original Story: Residents of Prince William County residing in Bristow, Nokesville and Gainesville have reported suspicious individuals going door to door to sell cleaning products. This description appears to fit a report issued by the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Stafford County Sheriff’s office claims to have received several reports from the southern part of the county about a group of individuals acting in a suspicious manner, attempting to provide free cleaning products or services. In these incidents the subjects offer free cleaning products or offer to clean floors for free. The subjects claim to be in the process of opening a "cleaning shop" either in the City of Fredericksburg or off of White Oak Road in Stafford, although they are likely to use a different approach in Prince William County. In one incident a subject asked the homeowner if he wanted to buy a vacuum cleaner. At this time no crime has been committed but the actions of the subjects are suspicious in nature. The subjects have been described as 5'06" white male in his fifties with slicked back hair wearing a light tan blazer, a 6'04" balding black male also in his fifties, and a third subject who has been described as a pregnant female. The subjects may be traveling in a dark colored SUV. The Sheriff's Office in Stafford said the individuals did not carry soliciting permits granted by their county, and thus should be considered suspect. Anyone who makes any contact with these individuals should contact Prince William County Police department and make them aware of the situation by calling 703-792-6500. For emergencies, call 911.
