Posted

policecrusiercloseThe majority of thefts from homes in the area are from open or unlocked dwellings; Saturday an individual took a bicycle from the open garage of a residence located in the 9700 block of Solitary Place in Bristow.

According to the home owner, the burglary occurred between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sept. 13.

"The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said.  "Entry was made into an attached garage through an open overhead door; a bicycle was reported missing."

This summer, several bicycles were stolen from area garages. In early July, police charged two Gainesville teens with multiple counts of larceny for these thefts.
