policedoor700pxThree women reported that they were approached in the parking lot of the Promenade at Virginia Gateway Aug. 12 by an individual who may have intended to rob them. According to one victim, a woman of Warrenton, three men, with hats pulled down over their faces, were sitting in a car observing the women as they returned to their vehicle following a movie at the Regal Virginia Gateway Stadium at 12:30 a.m. One of the men left the vehicle and approached the group as they walked by; their car, the only other one in the lot was parked next to a storage container. "The guy who approached us was good-looking and clean-cut but he definitely had his hands behind him," she said. "I don't know if he was armed, but I think he was going to try to flirt with us to get us to come closer to the car and when that didn't happen he kind of got mad and yelled at us." The women safely reached their vehicle without incident. "We never stopped walking and once we got pretty far away they drove off," she said. She described the man that harassed her as a fair-skinned black man in his 20's. Police are investigating the incident.
