Tractor Trailer Overturns on Rt. 29 in Gainesville

Prince William County Police reports that a tractor trailer overturned around 2 p.m. on Route 29/Lee Highway at the new over change near I-66 in Gainesville.

According to a statement, the tractor-trailer is across both lanes, over the jersey wall.

No injuries were reported were reported in the incident.

The Virginia Department of Transportation says that all lanes and shoulders are closed and police are redirecting traffic away from the site, onto Linton Hall Road and Heathcote Boulevard.

“Motorist should avoid the area or expect long delays,” police said.

This accident comes hours after another tractor trailer flipped onto an unmanned car on the eastbound side of I-66. The incident stalled traffic for five miles this morning.
