According to D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier, who spoke in a televised press conference at noon, two of the three gunmen who attacked personnel at the D.C. Navy Yard are still on the loose.

Both shooters, according to Lanier, are wearing military-style clothing but have not been identified as military. One is a white male wearing a khaki tan military uniform and carrying a handgun. The other is a black male, approximately 50-years of age, wearing an olive drab colored military style uniform and carrying a long gun.

The third shooter has been shot dead by police.

Lanier said it is “an ongoing investigation.”

D.C. Police are working with the FBI, U.S. Marshalls, Naval Criminal Intelligence, Transit Police and Park Service.

There are deceased on the scene of the Navy Yard.

D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray said they could not answer questions at this time but would brief the press again within two hours.
