Updated: Dec.7, 8:30 a.m.
In anticipation of the upcoming inclement weather, Nokesville Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department has canceled the Santa routes for Sunday; they are working to reschedule neighborhood visits.
"Rescue will work hard on Saturday Dec 7 to fit Sunday’s scheduled routes in." NVFDRS representative John Gough said. "If we don’t make it to your neighborhood on Saturday, we have reserved Sunday Dec 22 as a make-up day."
The revised schedule is:
Saturday, Dec 7 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Saturday, Dec 14 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Sunday, Dec 15 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Saturday, Dec 21 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Sunday, Dec 22 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Original Story:
The sight of Santa Claus on a fire truck could only mean one thing. Happy kids!
The Nokesville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will once again circulate through local communities dispensing candy with Santa beginning this Saturday.
"Through special arrangements with the North Pole, Santa Claus will be making an early trip to check on children who have been 'naughty or nice,'" department representative Susie Frizzle said.
While the "Santa Run" cannot reach all local neighborhoods, NVFDRS is still attempting to add additional neighborhoods.
"We are looking into the schedule to see if we can add some of your requested communities to the list and updates will be posted when we have them," Frizzle said.
The department cautions parents to make sure that children stay on the sidewalk during Santa's visits.
