UPDATED: Police Arrest Suspect in Armed Robbery of Bristow Bank

Police have made an arrest overnight in the armed robbery of the Bank of America in Braemar Village Plaza in Bristow.

Police have released a description of the individual; suspect is a black male, six feet tall and 200lbs.

Police are canvassing local neighborhoods and employing a helicopter from Fairfax in the search.

Police responded to the Bank of America at 12881 Braemar Village Plaza for a report of an armed robbery.

"The the suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun, and took money before fleeing on foot," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said.

According to police, no injuries were reported.

As the suspect's face was covered, the police only know the individual was wearing dark clothing including a sweatshirt with hood.
