A Manassas home collapsed Tuesday evening as a result of a vehicle crashing through it.

Prince William Fire and Rescue units responded the report of a building collapse at the 9500 block of Lomond Drive in Manassas, May 3 at 6:23 p.m.

“Upon arrival, fire and rescue crews observed a vehicle crashed through a house, triggering an active gas leak due to the gas meter being sheared off during the vehicle’s impact,” said Kim Hylander, Communications Specialist with the Department of Fire & Rescue.

No injuries were reported.

According to Hylander, all of the home’s occupants were immediately evacuated while firefighters further investigated the incident.

Red Cross was on the scene and assisted the family displaced by the collapse, which includes five adults, four children and four pets.

A building official deemed the home to be unsafe.

“The house sustained moderate damage,” said Hylander. “The specialized Prince William County Technical Rescue teams build a two post verticle shore to stabilize the structure.”

The incident is currently under investigation by the Prince William county Police.
