VIDEO: Police Respond to False Domestic Incident in Bristow

Posted

A possible prank call led police to surround a Bristow residence as a precaution last weekend.

Residents poured out of their houses when a reported 10 police cars descended on a Claret Way home in the Linton Crest community late Saturday night.

According to eyewitnesses, 30 heavily armed officers approached the house requesting through speakers that the occupants vacate.

"They made multiple requests through speakers for the residents to get out of the house," one resident said.

Police said they were attempting to substantiate a call about an armed domestic dispute.

"The initial call was third party claiming a domestic assault was occurring in the residence and that one of the parties had a weapon," police spokesman Jonathan Perok said. "Officers set up around the house as a precaution and attempted contact inside the home."

Ultimately, they made contact with the residents.

"Everyone in the home was asleep and didn’t hear police attempt contact," Perok said.

Police did confirm that they found no evidence of an assault or argument and located no weapons.

Perok said no arrests were made and suggests the incident could have been a prank call.
