Officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department arrested Roy The Nguyen, 27, on charges of rape, abduction with intent to defile, and forcible sodomy of a 26-year-old Gainesville woman.
Initially, Prince William County Police responded to investigate a rape at the 14400 block of Clubhouse Rd in Gainesville on Feb. 5.
According to the victim, Nguyen, whom she knew, came to her residence with a handgun and sexually assaulted her.
“The accused then forced the victim into a and drove her to an unknown location,” said police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok. “Eventually, the victim was able to convince the accused to drive her back home.”
Following the investigation, police obtained warrants against the accused, who was apprehended the next day by authorities in Virginia Beach.
A court date and bond information is unavailable.
"The accused will be transported back to Prince William County," Perok said.
