Winter Weather Watch Issued for Region Wednesday Night

Posted

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Wednesday evening through Thursday evening.

According to NWS forecasters, a high impact coastal storm has the potential to drop five or more inches of snow and sleet.

However, experts say that it's too early to tell what the storm will bring to the area in terms of precipitation.

"Snow is expected to move in from the south Wednesday evening," they said. "Snow may mix with sleet and rain late Wednesday night and Thursday; snow could be heavy at times."

The storm should leave the area Thursday afternoon.

Temperatures will start in the mid to upper 20s Wednesday night, slowly rising into the lower and middle 30s Thursday afternoon.

The NWS warns that during the storm system, roads could become snow and sleet covered and slippery, making travel may be dangerous Wednesday night and Thursday.
