Prince William Police arrested Adrienne Ozetta Taylor, 21, of Manassas, charging her with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Officers were responding to a vehicle crash in the area of Rixlew Lane and Ashton Avenue in Manassas around 5 p.m., Tuesday.

“During the investigation, one of the parties, identified as the accused, refused to cooperate with officers and exit her vehicle, so it could be towed out of traffic,” said police spokesperson, Officer Jonathan Perok.

Eventually the accused exited the vehicle.

Officers then cited her for following too closely, resulting in the crash.

“At one point,” Perok said, “the accused attempted to get back and her vehicle and, in the process of doing so, forcibly opened the door and struck an officer.”

The accused then attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly detained by officers.

No injuries were reported. Following an investigation, Taylor was arrested without further incident.

Taylor has been released on a $2,500 secured bond. Her court date is set for May 7, 2015.
