According to a homeowner, she was asleep in her home located in the 8200 block of Barrett Drive Feb. 16., when she awoke to an unknown man who had entered her bedroom.
“The homeowner screamed and the man fled the room,” police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. “Entry appeared to have been made through an unsecured window.”
The woman, who was not injured during the home invasion, contacted police. They quickly located the individual, whom they identified as the suspect.
Police charged Melvin Saul Villalta, 24, of Manassas with burglary and petit larceny.
“Officers determined that the accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time of his arrest,” Perok said.
The suspect’s court date is currently unavailable; he is being held on a $10,000 secured bond.
