EMPTY SHELTER PROJECT: Jonah, Lab Mix Will Make You Smile

Posted

If you have ever wished Labradors could stay puppy sized forever, we'd like you to meet Jonah.

Jonah came to the Empty Shelter Project in Prince William all the way from Louisiana this past Saturday. We've only had him for a few days, but he has been an absolute delight the entire time. He's a very sweet and affectionate boy, who lives for cuddles and to play with toys!

We believe Jonah to be around four years old and to be some type of lab mixed with a smaller dog as he is only about 30-35 lbs. He's a very happy dog, and gets along great with kids and other dogs. While he is a little confused by cats, they don’t bother him, and he doesn't bother them.

Jonah is a very smart boy who loves to put a smile on everyone's face. He has a little bit of a crooked grin, but it just adds to his quirky character. We believe that he had been abused in the past and had a broken jaw, which is why his face is a little off kilter, but we love him all the same. We're also happy to see that he is so well adjusted, despite a rocky past.

Jonah has shown no behavioral issues of any sort and has done really well with us so far. He attended his first ever adoption event this Sunday and greeted everyone with a wag of his tail and with a snuggle.

We believe Jonah would be a great addition to any family and will keep you laughing! He has been fully "vetted" and is ready and available for adoption!

If you can see Jonah being the right pet for you, please contact the volunteers at the Empty Shelter Project (ESP) by phone: 571 288 2878 or 571 991 9642, email: adopt@espnova.org or find us on Facebook!

Besides Jonah, the ESP has a number of dogs and cats all needing to be adopted. They can help you find one right for you and your family.

The Empty Shelter Project is an all-volunteer foster-based animal rescue group in Prince William County dedicated to saving the lives of animals in danger of euthanasia in animal shelters across America. ESP also strives to help educate the public about issues regarding the pet overpopulation crisis to help prevent and decrease the amount of animals entering shelters annually.
