Weekend Beat: Mix Business, Politics & Pleasure

Posted

If you have had cabin fever over the last few days, it's time to get out and enjoy the Autumn air!  Walk to cure pediatric cancer, participate in a campaign rally, shop locally and support local artists, farmers, merchants, schools and authors!

It’s the first week of November. That means election madness in Washington D.C. and the highly politicized swing state of Virginia. This weekend will have not just one, but two presidents coming to town! However, if you’re looking to get out of the house, and away from the campaign, residents can take advantage of the last few weeks of temperate weather by attending the last of the Fall Festivals, getting plenty of walking in, and eating fresh fruits and vegetables from grown by local farmers before winter comes howling in. Meanwhile, if you are looking to get a jump-start on your holiday shopping, local vendors are selling their goods at an event near you!
