The Winter Weather Advisory has expired; however, the National Weather Service calls for rain and snow through 8 p.m. Monday.

Original Story:

Although they predict only an inch of accumulation in the area, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory due to the snowfall until 12 p.m. Monday.

According to NWS, "Moderate to locally heavy snow is expected this morning; snow will taper off by this afternoon."

A Winter Weather Advisory is issued when the potential exists for travel hazards due to snow.

NWS cautions that local roads, especially elevated surfaces, could become snow covered and slippery.

Experts predict a chance of rain and snow showers before 9 p.m., then an additional chance of snow showers between 9 p.m. and midnight, with little or no snow accumulation.
