More Wintry Weather Arrives Midweek

Posted

While temperatures will hit the 50s this weekend, the National Weather Service is monitoring a cold front that could bring more wintry weather to the region midweek.

“A cold front will move into the area Tuesday night and low pressure associated with this boundary will impact the area during the middle portion of next week, an NWS forecaster said.

Temperatures near freezing Wednesday night could turn forecasted precipitation to a wintry mix. As of Saturday morning, the weather service places the chances of precipitation somewhere between 30-60 percent.

“At least a chance of some wintry mix [in the coverage area] early Wednesday and then again on the backside of the system early Thursday morning,” they said “Behind this system will be a steady-gradual warm-up into the next weekend…each day a few deg warmer than the last.”
