The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the area from 7 p.m. until 10 a.m. Monday morning.

"Moderate to locally heavy rain will overspread the region this evening through tonight ending by the middle morning," NWS said. "Rainfall totals around one and a half inches are expected."

The weather service said that residents can expect streams and creeks to rise, possibly overflowing their banks.

Original Story:

The National Weather Service is warning of a strong storm that will hit the region overnight, which could bring flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas.

Residents could see between 1 and 2 inches of rain tonight.

"The entire area will get a good soaking rain as the warm frontal band lifts through tonight with many spots topping an inch," one NWS forecaster said. "I would expect ponding of water would be the main concern."

The service also reports that thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon and evening.

"A few of the thunderstorms may become severe with a threat of damaging wind gusts and large hail." they said.
