Tropical Depression Bill Expected to Bring Rain this Weekend

Posted

weatherbeatlogoDespite the fact that it is still technically spring, we sure have had our fair share of summer weather. If that weren’t enough, we have our first tropical storm to deal with.

Tropical Storm Bill caused lots of flooding issues throughout much of Texas and parts of Oklahoma and now Tropical Depression Bill has its eyes set on the Midwest, and eventually our area come Saturday.

Saturday is expected to start with mainly cloudy skies, but by the afternoon and evening hours, rain from what is now Tropical Depression Bill will begin to filter in. Some of this rain could be heavy at times. Rain will likely continue into the first half of Sunday, but by Sunday afternoon we should begin to dry out, and hopefully salvage a portion of our Father’s Day. I expect to see anywhere from 1-2 inches of rain this weekend.

In addition to the rain, I am expecting temperatures to surge into the 90s yet again on Sunday. Much of next week looks to have temperatures at or above 90 degrees.

I hope everybody has a great weekend. If you had outdoor plans, it is a good bet you will have to change your plans. I don’t think this will be a major storm for us, but definitely enough to ruin outdoor plans.

My favorite thing to do is study the weather. It is truly fascinating. Nothing beats a good thunderstorm. I became very interested in weather when I lived in Okinawa, Japan for four years and was actually inside a super typhoon.
