WEATHER BEAT: Autumn Outlook Features Average Temps

Posted

weatherbeatlogoAs predicted, the Summer of 2015 proved to be a hot one with 34 days at or above 90 degrees. This is compared to a measly 15 days at or above 90 degrees in 2014. With that said, how will autumn turn out?

The first couple days of September have definitely been scorchers, but then again, it is still technically summer until September 23.

For the remainder of September, I actually expect to see a pattern change which will greatly impact the weather for the latter half of the month. I am not expecting a drastic cool down, but temperatures in the 70 and 80s will replace the 90s we've been seeing. In fact, I suspect we are mostly done with 90s after this week.

Once we get into October, I expect average temperatures to continue. Granted, average in October is 60s, so I can't rule out a couple days with highs only in the 50s. Fall foliage will begin to show in mid-October with peak conditions occurring around October 25. I expect to see a freeze around October 15, which is just about average.

By the time we reach November, we will definitely feel the chill with several days in the 50s and maybe even a couple days that don't get out of the 40s. We could even see a couple snowflakes in November; although, I do not expect to see anything substantial until December.

I hope everyone enjoys the final days of summer and get ready for fall!
